It is that time of the year once again when Samsung releases its second flagship device, in the form of the Galaxy Note 10.
This year marks the first time the South Korean juggernaut has released two versions of the Galaxy Note, a similar approach it has adopted from the Galaxy S series of phones.
But this more than ever, Samsung is facing lots of competition from both Apple and those in the Android camp. Does the Galaxy Note 10 have what it takes to help them maintain pole position?
Here are 5 reasons why the Galaxy Note 10 is Samsung’s best and brightest hope.
1. Pick and Choose Your Size
Yes, the Galaxy Note 10 comes in two form factors. The smaller Galaxy Note 10 and the plus-sized Galaxy Note 10+. They are similar on the inside and boast the same array of awesome cameras.
But if you prioritise a smaller hand-friendly form factor the regular 6.3-inch Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED display of Galaxy Note 10 will suit you fine whereas if you want more screen real-estate to enjoy 4K HDR content then the 6.8-inch Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED display of Galaxy Note 10+ is the one for you.
It also helps that the Galaxy Note 10 serves as a nice entry point at RM3,699 for those curious to give the series a try while hardcore fans will get all the bells and whistles with the Galaxy Note 10+ for RM4,199.
2. The S Pen Stylus Is Better Than Ever
One of the cornerstone features of the Galaxy Note is the S Pen stylus. Over the years Samsung has added many new functions to the stylus such as the ability to remotely control the Galaxy Note to snap photos or control media playback. Well, this year Samsung has added the ability to convert words written by hand into text, making this extremely useful for taking notes as it makes your notes searchable.
That’s not all, there are now gesture controls you can perform with the S Pen stylus thanks to an integrated accelerometer, 6-axis motion sensor and gyro sensor. Now you can do so much more with the camera like being able zoom in or out, all without touching your phone.
3. Lots of Power and Storage Under The Hood
The Galaxy Note 10 is well known for their performance and absolute beasts for productivity. This year’s model is no different as the latest Exynos 9825 chipset resides inside paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
One key differentiator between the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ is the bigger version has a micro SD card slot that can be expanded up to 1TB. So if you want to carry all the data you could want, then you best opt for the Galaxy Note 10+.
4. It Features The Best Camera on A Smartphone
Smartphones have become the dominant tools for photography these days and Samsung knows it. The Galaxy Note 10 features a triple camera array with a primary 12-Megapixel Dual Pixel camera that snaps with the aperture wide open at f/1.5 when its dark and f/2.4 when it’s bright. Apart from that, there is a 12-Megapixel 2x optical zoom with optical image stabilisation and 16-Megapixel ultrawide angle camera.
Recently, the Galaxy Note 10+ scored an impressive score of 113 points for DxOMark Mobile benchmark, one of the most renowned platforms for testing camera quality. That pretty much puts the phone at the top spot. It also helps that it has an equally impressive 99 point score for DxOMark’s Selfie benchmark for selfie lovers out there.
5. A Massive Battery To Keep It Juiced For A Full Day
So much of our day is spent going from Point A to B and sometimes that becomes a delicate act of balancing our smartphone usage. Fortunately, both versions of the new Galaxy Note 10 are prepared for anything from surviving rain thanks to its IP68 rating to keeping enough juice to last you through the day.
The smaller Galaxy Note 10 has a 3,500mAh battery while the larger Galaxy Note 10+ packs a whopping 4,300mAh battery. Though there is a significant difference in the battery size take comfort knowing that they benefit from 25W fast charging and the ability to reverse charge other wireless devices like a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds thanks to the PowerShare feature.
