Samsung Galaxy A72 Unboxing And First Impressions

Hey guys, Adam Lobo here from Adam Lobo TV. In this article, I will be unboxing and give you my first impression of the Samsung Galaxy A72. Oh don’t worry, there is a charger for this phone, so let’s check it out!

Unboxing

Starting from the unboxing experience. It comes with a white box, with A72 on top, the visuals and the colour of the smartphone in the middle.

Then towards the side bottom of the box, you will find the type of variant of the phone.

Opening the box, you will find a smaller white box at the inner part of the cover where you will find the SIM ejector pin and the Quickstart guide inside.

Then you will find the phone inside.

Underneath towards the top, there is a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a USB-C 25 watts fast charging brick! Oh yes!

Design and Build

Next looking at the phone’s design and build, as usual, Samsung never seem to cut corners on their A series phones where just by holding the phone, even with your eyes closed, you will feel like you are holding a flagship-level phone. Even the phone’s weight felt like it was solid and pretty grippy as well with glossy sides with matte colour finish behind.

And speaking of the back, this is by far the best-looking blue colour smartphone ever, where Samsung calls this Awesome Blue, which I am sure Barney Stinson would agree!

And it also comes with another two more colours of Awesome Black and Awesome Violet.

Looking at the phone’s camera design, it has a very close design to the S21 Ultra, but this had a more lesser height to the camera bump, which made the phone perfectly fine when you are typing on a surface and the phone is also IP67 rated as well, which was really sweet.

Then like the other A-Series smartphones from Samsung, it has a flat-screen display with the camera hole punch in the middle.

Then looking towards the bottom of the phone, you will the USB-C Port, a headphones jack, and one of the two stereo speakers as the other is at the earpiece.

Both the power buttons and the volume rockers are on the right with the SIM ejector pin on top of the phone which has a microSD card slot expansion, and I have to say that I loved how Samsung made that inner part of the slots blue as well.

Screen Display

Next looking at the phone’s screen, it has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Display, with a resolution of 1080 by 2400 pixels FHD+ with a refresh rate of 90 hertz which is kind of expected for an A series smartphone with a very welcomed and smooth 90 hertz.

And during my initial impressions, the screen did look great, even under bright sunlight although with an 800 nits brightness.

Camera

And for the camera’s specs:

  • the main lens is a 64 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide)
  • an 8 MP, f/2.4, (telephoto),
  • a 12 MP, f/2.2 (Ultrawide), and
  • a 5 MP f/2.4 Macro Lens

Then as for the front camera:

  • a 32-megapixel f/2.2 lens

As for the video, both the rear and the front camera records up to 4k 30 frames per second.

So yes, as usual with these very interesting camera array, I am really eager to test out all these cameras during my full review of the phone, so stay tuned for that!

SpecificationsAs for the insides of the phone, it comes with the Snapdragon 720G (8 nm) Chipset, with the Adreno 618 GPU and the variant that I have is the 8 gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage.

In terms of software, backed with Android 11, it comes shipped the One UI version 3.1 skin, which as mentioned on my review of the S21 series that I really loved and appreciated.

Then finally when it comes to the phone’s battery, the reason why the phone is a bit on a heft side in terms of its weight is because it has 5,000 mAh of battery with fast charging up to 25 watts, where as seen in my unboxing, it comes shipped together with the phone.

So stay tuned once again for my full video review once I have used this phone as my daily driver to find out how much of a screen on time that I get once I have used this phone every single day at least for a week or two.
