Earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series took trip through China’s 3C and now the smartwatch line has arrived at the FCC. A device with the model number SM-R885 has appeared on the US certification site and it comes with a few intriguing details.

Based off the model number, Android Authority reports that SM-R885 could be the LTE variant of SM-R880 which is expected to be the smaller 41mm Galaxy Watch 4. The FCC listing does not elaborate on the size but it does confirm that the smartwatch supports several LTE bands. The watch also supports dual band WiFi, NFC GNSS and Bluetooth. Another feature listed is audio playback from the smartwatches internal memory.

The smartwatch battery has the model number EB-BR880ABY which has been mentioned on previous listings and is rated at 240mAh. This suggests that the Galaxy Watch 3 and 4 will not have a difference in battery size.

The watch will also probably ship with Qi wireless charging support and it might use the same charger as previous models. The FCC tested the Galaxy Watch 4 with a charger numbered EP=OR825 which is the same wireless charger that supports the Galaxy Watch 3 and the Watch Active 2.

The 3C listing suggests that the watch might not ship with a charger, but the FCC listing seems to confirm that it will ship with the same charger as previous watches. Rumours suggest that the Galaxy Watch 4 series could launch in August and the FCC listing does suggest that the launch is really soon so keep an eye out for that.
