OPPO Find X9 Ultra Set to Come with Sony’s Next-Gen 200MP Sensor
The upcoming OPPO Find X9 Ultra is at the centre of a new wave of speculation, with a prominent Chinese leaker suggesting the device will introduce a groundbreaking camera sensor. According to Digital Chat Station, the flagship smartphone will be equipped with a new 200MP main camera sensor developed by Sony.

This particular sensor is noted for its large 1/1.1-inch type size, which, while not a full 1-inch, is a significant step up and promises improved light intake and image quality. This potential camera upgrade for OPPO‘s next flagship has also sparked intrigue in the wider smartphone industry, as the same Sony sensor is rumoured to be a key component of the main camera on Samsung’s future Galaxy S26 Ultra.
If these rumours prove accurate, the 2026 flagship smartphone market could see a fascinating head-to-head battle between two of the world’s leading brands, with both devices leveraging the same core camera hardware. However, a potential caveat remains: the OPPO Find X9 Ultra’s availability may be limited to the Chinese market, which would prevent a direct global competition with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
In terms of release, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to launch after the Chinese New Year, which falls on 17 February. Digital Chat Station hints that the unveiling could occur in March, a slightly earlier timeframe than its predecessor, the OPPO Find X8 Ultra, which was officially announced in April.
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is also rumoured to feature a new multispectral sensor for improved colour accuracy and a quad-camera setup. These specifications, if they come to fruition, position the Find X9 Ultra as a strong contender in the high-end smartphone photography space.
