The title might be a little clickbait but according to TrendForce, a market research company for consumer electronics, there will be no iPhone 13 as Apple might opt for a different name.
It is important to keep in mind that as with all leaks, these are just rumours. TrendForce have had accurate reports in the past, but they have also had inaccurate reports such as one that claimed that the iPhone would be getting Apple Pencil support back in 2018. So take this news with a pinch of salt.
Their report starts out with leaks and rumours we have seen before. The upcoming iPhone will have a smaller notch compared to previous versions. The Pro models will be getting a 120Hz refresh rate display and they will be the only iPhones in the lineup with the LiDAR Scanner. There will also be 4 new models of the iPhone which surprisingly includes a mini version although the 12 mini did not sell well. There is however one contradictory report.
The firm reports that there will not be a 1TB storage option and the storage options for the upcoming iPhones will remain the same. This contradicts the report from Jon Prosser who said that there will be a new 1TB option of storage for the new iPhone. Moving on to the name, TrendForce reports that the new iPhone line will not be called the iPhone 13 but will be named the iPhone 12s. This lines up with a report from Jon Prosser back in February who said that Apple will go for the S branding with this years iPhone line.
The 2021 iPhones are about 3 months away so we should know soon what they decide to call it.
