The Chromebook market is one that is constantly filled with a ton of budget oriented options and high end options as well, however the new Lenovo Chromebooks are looking to shake up the midrange Chromebook market.
The company have announced the Lenove 5i and Lenovo Flex 5i, two new Chromebooks which start at $440. The 5i is a clamshell style Chromebook which features a 14-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD resolution. The display is also a touch screen display. The device also weighs a hefty 3.13lbs and has two USB-C 3.1 ports, one USB-A 3.1 port, a microSD card reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In terms of specs, it is very customisable. You can get 11th-gen Intel Core i5 or i3 processors, or go all the way down to an Intel Pentium 7505. You can also get 4 or 8GB of RAM and 128, 256, or 512GB of internal SSD storage. All models support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
The Flex 5i is very similar to the regular 5i but the main difference is that it is a 2-in-1 laptop so it can act like a clamshell or like a tablet depending on how you want to use it. The display is larger than the 5i, coming in at 13.3 inches but it has the sane resolution and aspect ratio as the 5i. Where the Flex 5i really differs is on the inside. It offers an additional CPU option in the Intel Celeron 6305 and eMMC storage options (32 or 64GB).
Both devices will start at $440 and will be available in July.
