First Look At The Galaxy Z Fold 3 And Z Flip 3

The specs and release date of Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices have been rumoured and leaked for a while now but we finally have a proper first look at the devices thanks to leaker Evan Blass.

The first image he posted does not reveal too much about the design of the larger foldable device as it only shows the interior of the phone. However, we do get a good look at the exterior of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in this image. The Flip 3 seems to have a substantial redesign with a larger external display and a two tone colour scheme for the now vertically stacked cameras which look similar to the Galaxy S21’s redesign.

The leak also seems to confirm that the device will be named the Z Flip 3 and not the Z Flip 2. This probably means that Samsung are counting the Z Flip and its 5G variant as separate iterations of the phone. This is probably a good thing as it streamlines the numbering system for the company’s foldable line.

Moving on to the second image posted by Blass, we get a clearer look at the Galaxy Z Fold 3. This image shows off a slimmed down camera bump at the back and a new “Fold Edition” S Pen stylus that will help these foldables stand out more and probably means that the Fold line could be replacing the Note line of smartphones. The rest of the design seems similar to last years Galaxy Z Fold 2.

Samsung has an event on June 28th at MWC that is supposed to show off the “Galaxy ecosystem” but it is unclear if the new foldable line will be launched then or at a later date.
