So, POCO Global just sent me the brand new POCO X3 GT to check out, and before I use the phone daily to give you a full in-depth and honest review on ALL of the cool features of the phone, I thought of first doing a dedicated video of one of the most important features of ANY smartphone – which is the phoneās screen.
So in this article, let’s dive deeper into what makes POCO X3 GTās screen not only an extremely beautiful screen BUT also a very FAST screen as well.
.
Unboxing
Now before anything, letās quickly unbox the phone.
The POCO X3 GTās box comes in black, with POCO logo on top, āX3 GTā in the middle and ā5Gā down below.
Opening the box, you will find a smaller yellow-colored box, where on the outside, you will find the SIM ejector pin. In there youāll find:
- the headphones jack dongle
- the usual nice Lil POCO stickers
- the warranty card and safety guide, andĀ
- the soft clear phone case

Then you will find the phone itself.
Underneath, you will find the USB-A to USB-C cable and a massive 67-watt charging brick.

Display
Alright, now letās dive into the display specs.
So the POCO X3 GT comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ display DotDisplay which is an IPS LCD Display, that is HANDS DOWN the best IPS panel that I have ever seen on any smartphone out right now!
It has support for a DCI-P3 color gamut, giving you one of the best color-accurate displays, especially within this range that brings you a very true-to-life display, no matter what content that you are viewing on the screen.
And since we are at a point of time of really needing a high refresh rate screen in our daily smartphone usage, it gives us 100% more frames per second compared to a 60-hertz screen and 33% more frames on a 90-hertz screen.
Whatās nice is that not only does the POCO X3 GT come with a high refresh rate of 120 hertz, but it also has a 240-hertz touch sampling rate as well.
Now, this 120-hertz refresh rate is not your regular refresh rate type of screen as it has a very interesting 6 stage DynamicSwitch Display, where it will adjust the refresh rate and frames per second according to the exact content that you are consuming. For example:
- video playback can go up to 30 and 60 frames per second,Ā
- watching movies up to 25 frames per second or 50 hertz,Ā
- daily scrolling up to 120-hertz refresh rate,Ā
- and whatās extra sweet is that even during gaming, it can go up to 120 hertz for games that can support up to 120 fps as well.
Just so you all know, there are some phones out there which claim that they can go up to 120 hertz for āeverythingā, but what they are really hiding from you is the fact that during gaming, it will not go up to that high refresh rate or fps mode, so keep that in mind.
So one of the biggest complaints that people have for smartphones are screen dimming issues and also the fact that some screens on smartphones donāt really get as bright under bright sunlight.
And I am absolutely happy to note that the phoneās screen was just perfect under very bright sunlight, due to the Sunlight display technology, which uses the 360 degree light sensor that adjusts to the best settings according to the surrounding lighting conditions.
Now all of this cool display technology would not be very useful if it had poor glass screen protection and here is where I was SUPER BLOWN AWAY with the fact that the POCO X3 GT, comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which is the BEST display technology for protection that Corning creates for the likes of flagship smartphones like the Mi 11 Ultra, and for a phone of this price range, it was something which even I couldnāt believe it had.
And with this, it can give you up to 150% drop protection and on top of that 200% scratch protection, which means, if you are like me who doesnāt like to use a screen protector in their smartphones, well, THIS gives you and me that sort of peace of mind!
Then finally, although some may not even realize this, when you use a smartphone daily, simple tasks like just reading text or just plain browsing are pretty crucial. Because guys, what is the point of having a beautiful screen and all but you canāt really read texts properly right?Ā
And with the Reading Mode 3.0 it gives that sort of a paper texture behind the text to simulate a real paper to reduce eye strain when doing your daily tasks on the phone. Simple YET beneficial guys.
Alright, guys, thatās my unboxing and my first impressions on the POCO X3 GTās screen, and just for the sake of your knowledge, the phoneās overall specs are equipped with:
- the Mediatek Dimensity 1100 5G Chipset, which is a premium chipset as you guys know
- the Mali G77 MC9 GPU
- 5000 milliamps of battery
- a massive 67 watts turbocharging
- a 64-megapixel triple camera setup, andĀ
- MIUI 12.5 Skin
As for the phoneās price here in Malaysia, the POCO X3 GT is coming at a really good early bird pricing of only RM1199 compared to the retail price of RM1299 for the 8+128 gigabytes variant
