Acer Unveils New Iconia X and Iconia A Tablet Series at IFA, Featuring AI-Powered Innovations

In addition to the Acer Swift Air 16 laptop, Acer announced a significant expansion of its tablet lineup, introducing the new Iconia X and Iconia A series at its next@acer global press conference at IFA. The new tablets are designed to blend productivity, entertainment, and modern digital living, with a strong emphasis on AI-powered features.

The new Iconia X and A series tablets are built on the Android platform and feature vivid displays and AI capabilities that enhance user experiences.

Iconia X Series: A Blend of Power and Portability

Leading the new series is the Acer Iconia X12, a slim and lightweight tablet designed for both premium style and performance. Weighing just 500 grams, the Iconia X12 boasts a 12.6-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) AMOLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 400 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, comes with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and offers up to 16 hours of battery life. The tablet also includes a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera, quad stereo speakers, and a USB PD 2.0 Type-C port. Optional accessories, including a stylus, detachable keyboard, and magnetic kickstand, provide added versatility.

The Acer Iconia X14 features a larger 14-inch FHD (1200×1920) OLED display and is powered by a processor with a built-in NPU, enabling a suite of new AI features. These include “AI Smart Sensing” for gesture control and posture sensing, “AI Super Resolution” for upscaling video quality, and “Smile Camera”, which automatically captures photos when a smile or “OK” gesture is detected. The Iconia X14 offers up to 10 hours of battery life and is housed in a durable chassis with a built-in kickstand.

Iconia A Series: Accessible Performance with Integrated Design

Joining the lineup are the Acer Iconia A16 and Iconia A14, which offer a balance of performance and AI-powered features for work and media consumption. Running on Android 15, both tablets are equipped with a processor with a built-in NPU, enabling smart interactions such as AI Smart Sensing and Smile Camera.

The devices feature 16- and 14-inch FHD IPS displays, respectively, with a ZeroFrame design for immersive viewing. A notable design element is the integrated tripod-style kickstand, which is built directly into the tablet, eliminating the need for additional accessories. Both tablets offer up to 10 hours of battery life, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4.

All new Iconia tablets also feature Acer Screen Casting, which allows them to function as a wireless display for laptops, providing a clean and versatile multi-screen setup.

Pricing and Availability

The Acer Iconia X12 will be available in November, with prices starting at USD320 (approximately RM1,353). The Acer Iconia X14 will also launch in November, starting at USD350 (approximately RM1,481). The Acer Iconia A14 will be available in November, starting at USD300 (approximately RM1,269), while the Acer Iconia A16 is set for a November release in most regions, starting at USD340 (approximately RM1,440).
