Acer Unveils Predator Helios 18P AI, Blurring Lines Between Work and Play
Acer has announced a new lineup of high-performance computing devices, led by the Predator Helios 18P AI laptop. The new machine is positioned as a hybrid solution for professionals and gamers alike, designed to elevate productivity, content creation, and gaming experiences. Acer also announced new desktops, a monitor, and a gaming keyboard.
The new Predator Helios 18P AI is purpose-built to cater to the needs of modern users who require powerful computing in a portable form factor. Going beyond traditional gaming laptops, the device supports desktop-level AI computing, inferencing, and productivity, making it an ideal choice for AI developers and content creators. It is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 285HX with Intel vPro and supports up to 192 GB of ECC memory, a feature that actively corrects data corruption to prevent system crashes and ensure data integrity.
Powering the laptop’s robust graphics is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with DLSS 4. The system is further supported by a 6TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD, Thunderbolt 5 Type-C connectivity, and Killer Wi-Fi 7. All this performance is showcased on a large 18-inch Mini LED, 4K WQUXGA (3840 x 2400) display with HDR mode, offering exceptional accuracy with a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Acer’s proprietary cooling solution, featuring dual 6th Gen AeroBlade metal fans and liquid metal thermal grease, ensures the laptop runs cool under demanding loads.
In addition to the flagship laptop, Acer introduced the Predator Orion 7000 and Predator Orion 5000 desktops, built for extreme gaming and content creation with cutting-edge Intel Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. For competitive gamers, the new Predator X27U F8 monitor offers a 26.5-inch OLED WQHD display with an ultra-fast 720 Hz refresh rate. Finally, the Predator Aethon 550 TKL gaming keyboard, with its tri-mode connectivity and hot-swappable switches, provides precision and personalisation in a compact design.
