Acer today announced the Swift Air 16 (SFA16-61M), the latest addition to its Swift lineup, designed for professionals who prioritise mobility without sacrificing performance. The new laptop, powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, is notable for its sub-1 kg weight, despite featuring a large 16-inch display.

The Swift Air 16 is equipped to deliver a compelling blend of AI computing and immersive visuals. As a Copilot+ PC, it supports a range of unique AI-driven experiences. The device is crafted from a magnesium-aluminium alloy, keeping the weight of the IPS display model at just 0.99 kg (2.18 lbs), making it one of the lightest 16-inch laptops on the market.

Beyond its impressive technical specifications, the Acer Swift Air 16 stands out with several key features that set it apart. Its featherlight chassis, constructed from a durable magnesium-aluminium alloy, provides both a premium feel and remarkable portability for professionals on the move. The integration of AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors makes it a formidable Copilot+ PC, enabling seamless on-device AI experiences like Recall, Click to Do, and enhanced Windows Search without relying on the cloud.

The laptop also offers a choice between a stunning WQXGA+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate for vibrant visuals or a WUXGA IPS display for balanced performance. For secure and clear video conferencing, the device is equipped with a 2MP FHD IR camera with a privacy shutter and dual microphones for crisp audio.

The Acer Swift Air 16 is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processor, which includes models up to the AMD Ryzen AI 7 3500 paired with integrated AMD Radeon 860M graphics. Customers can choose between two display options: a 16-inch WQXGA+ (2880×1800) AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate or a 16-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) IPS display with a 60 Hz refresh rate.

For memory and storage, the laptop is configurable with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 onboard memory and up to a 1 TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 SSD. The laptop’s 50 Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery is rated to provide up to 13 hours of battery life, based on video playback tests. A variety of ports, including two full-function USB Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Type-A, and an HDMI 1.4 port, along with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 support, ensure versatile connectivity.

Pricing and Availability

The Acer Swift Air 16 (SFA16-61M) will be available in the EMEA region starting in November. The laptop will have a starting price of EUR999 (~RM4,921). Malaysian availability is not known at the time of writing, but do stay tuned to us for more information.
