All Samsung Galaxy S25 Models Set to Ditch Exynos for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

Attention Galaxy fans! There’s good news for those who weren’t thrilled with the Exynos chip in the Galaxy S24 and S24+. According to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Samsung is ditching its Exynos chip for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series in favour of Qualcomm’s next-gen powerhouse, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

This shift seems to stem from production issues with Samsung’s own 3nm Exynos 2500 chip. Reportedly, Samsung’s 3nm yields haven’t met expectations. They are falling short compared to TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process. TSMC’s process is used for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Here’s why this matters: Qualcomm chips have consistently enjoyed a reputation for superior performance compared to Samsung’s Exynos offerings. This year’s Galaxy S24 series with its Qualcomm chip was only available in select regions, leaving many users wanting more.

There’s a potential downside, however. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be pricier than its predecessor, which could translate to a bump in the price of the Galaxy S25 series. Considering the S24’s premium price tag, it will be interesting to see how Samsung navigates this cost factor.
