The iPhone 12 Mini has not had the best of times since launch and after a mixed bag of initial reviews, the sales for Apple’s smaller iPhone has been disappointing when compared to the other iPhone 12 models. It is now reported that because of this, Apple has pulled the plug on the iPhone 12 Mini, earlier than expected.

TrendForce released a statement that said Apple has moved the iPhone 12 Mini to an End-Of-Life status which means it is no longer in production by Apple. It seems that the focus from Apple is to now sell off the remaining stock of the smartphone with no more in the pipeline which is not a complete surprise. Back in January, Apple had reportedly cut production of the iPhone 12 Mini by 2 million units. They followed that up by increasing production of the iPhone 12 Pro as poor sales of the Mini balanced out by the unexpected popularity of the Pro model.

JP Morgan supply chain analyst William Yang made the prediction that Apple will stop production of the 12 Mini by the second quarter of 2021 which is exactly what happened. However, even with the poor sales of the device, Apple still looks set to release an iPhone 13 Mini this year but are expected to drop the Mini model by 2022.
