Avengers Endgame is finally here and Samsung has invited us to check out the world’s largest LED cinema screen, the Samsung ONYX.
What is Samsung ONYX you ask? It is Samsung’s latest Cinema LED technology. The name is inspired by the gemstone which alludes to the true black color that the display is capable of displaying.
There are 3 parts to the entire experience. The ONYX View which touts 4K HDR support which means true blacks and it being a LED screen, it isn’t affected by ambient light. The ONYX 3D boasts unparalleled 3D depth with enhanced brightness and crisp details. The ONYX Sound is powered by JBL speakers which are tuned specifically for LED screen with an expanded sweet spot. This should make for an incredible cinema experience.
Currently, the ONYX cinematic experience is available the MBO Atria, Mid Valley GSC and now at TGV Central i-City, where it houses, the largest Samsung Onyx Cinema LED standing at 14m (45.93ft) by 4m (16.4ft). It’s the world’s first Digital Cinema Initiatives(DCI)-compliant (HDR)LED theatre display which achieves 146fL (Foot-Lambert) brightness at maximum output.
And yes, the viewing experience of Avengers End Game was second to none! Yes, the drive all the way to Shah Alam can be little far to some but trust me, it is worth the experience.
