Did Apple Confirm The Existence Of The M1X MacBook Pro?

While WWDC is a conference meant for software, many rumours leading up to the event did point towards a new MacBook Pro being announced but unfortunately the audience was left disappointed. However, Apple seems to have included the phrases “M1X MacBook Pro” and “M1X” as tags on their WWDC YouTube video, something that was spotted by Max Balzer.

This could indicate one of two things. Either that Apple are publicly acknowledging the existence of a new Apple silicon chip and a new MacBook Pro, or someone on the social media team is trying for an SEO boost and made this up. If the former is true, then it does confirm rumours that the new MacBook Pro will pack a new version of the M1 chip. It might not be a drastic improvement and Apple might market it as an enhanced “X” variant, similar to what they do with their iPad line sometimes.

A few weeks ago, Mark Gurman reported that a redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro could be released as early as this summer and these new versions are set to bring back the SD card slot, HDMI port and a MagSafe charging connector. It is also set to offer twice as many high-performance CPU and GPU cores as well as support for up to 64GB of RAM. While announcing the device at WWDC would have been cool, this does not mean that the device is not on the horizon so stay tuned to Adam Lobo TV for any updates.
