HONOR Unveils New HONOR 200 and 200 Pro in China, Focused on Photography Prowess

HONOR has officially launched its new HONOR 200 series smartphones in China, boasting high-end features and a focus on camera capabilities.

HONOR 200 Pro: A Flagship Contender

The star of the show is the HONOR 200 Pro. Moreover, it features a large, immersive 6.7-inch OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, powering the phone is the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, ensuring top-notch performance. Furthermore, multitasking becomes effortless with up to 16GB of RAM. Besides, storage options vary from 256GB to a staggering 1TB. Consequently, they offer ample space for all your photos, videos, and apps.

The battery on the 200 Pro comes in at 5200mAh and supports 100W fast charging, letting you quickly get back to using your phone without a long wait.

But the true highlight of the 200 Pro is its camera system. The main sensor is a massive 50MP 1/1.3-inch Omnivision OV50H sensor with OIS, offering superb low-light performance and sharp images. This sensor is the same one found in the HONOR Magic6 Pro, a testament to the Pro’s flagship aspirations. The camera setup is completed by a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens, providing versatility for capturing various scenes.

HONOR 200: A Powerful Option

The standard HONOR 20 offers many of the same features as the Pro model, but with a slightly less powerful processor. It utilises the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, which is still a capable chip for everyday tasks and most games. Storage options go up to 512GB, and it retains the same 5200mAh battery with 100W fast charging.

The camera system on the 200 takes a slight step down compared to the Pro. The main sensor is a 50MP 1/1.56-inch IMX906 sensor with OIS, still offering excellent image quality. It’s joined by the same 12MP ultra-wide and 50MP telephoto lenses as the Pro model.

AI-Powered Portrait Mode with Studio Harcourt Flair

Both the devices run MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14. An intriguing feature is the AI-powered portrait mode trained using images from the renowned Studio Harcourt in Paris. This allows users to capture portraits with the studio’s iconic style, perfect for those seeking a touch of Parisian elegance in their photos.

Malaysia Launch and Pricing

The HONOR 200 series is set to launch in Malaysia this June. Pricing in China starts at around RM1,621 for the base HONOR 200 variant, going up to RM2,919 for the top-of-the-line HONOR 200 Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage.
