Every enterprise wants AI. But here’s the painful truth: most never make it out from just “testing”. The barrier? Too complex, too costly, and worst of all? Too slow!
So I just came back from the HUAWEI Cloud’s Exhibition Area during HUAWEI CONNECT 2025.
And over here, it has proven that HUAWEI Cloud has built a platform that gets rid of those problems completely. So let me walk you through what I’ve learned here and how it is possible in this explainer article.
This is the latest HUAWEI Cloud Explained!
Keynote Highlights
And it all started with the amazing keynote presented by Charles Yang, the Senior Vice President of HUAWEI and President of HUAWEI Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Services, where he shared some really key points in his keynote.
First of all, HUAWEI Cloud provides a highly elastic cloud infrastructure through its global storage and computing network So this simply means that wherever you are, you get the performance you need.
Next is Data Enablement. So instead of data sitting idle, HUAWEI Cloud helps enterprises unlock real value out of it.
Then, President Yang also mentioned that it will be a one-stop AI development platform. Hence, it lowers the barrier to innovation, making it easier for enterprises to build AI-native applications without needing a massive R&D team. So yes, finally! Having AI without needing a hundred PhDs and a billion-dollar budget!
And finally, HUAWEI Cloud consolidates global best practices, both in digital and intelligent transformation, delivering success through their services to more customers worldwide.
So with that, it is a solid roadmap, and honestly, it makes sense why so many companies are choosing them.
Exhibition Highlights
And then I got to see some really cool stuff on the exhibition floor as well!
First is the CloudMatrix 384. Think of this as HUAWEI’s AI Supercomputer, designed to handle the toughest artificial intelligence tasks.
It links together hundreds of advanced chips into one powerful, coordinated system. This is because of the Supernode architecture as each of the supernodes integrates a total of 384 NPUs, and also 192 CPUs.
These components are interconnected via a high-speed MatrixLink that enables peer-to-peer communication, maximizing compute efficiency.
The performance gains are also massive as the inference throughput reaches up to 2,400 tokens per second per card. So that is 4x faster than traditional non-supernode setups. In simple words, it’s like going from a bicycle to a Formula 1 car!
Speaking of a coordinated system earlier, the clusters of 432 supernodes can be cascaded into ultra-large compute setups, with up to 160,000 cards in a single data center.
This enables integrated training and inference, with the flexibility assigned for daytime inference and nighttime training. So yes, this was very impressive!
HUAWEI Cloud Versatile
Then, there’s the HUAWEI Cloud Versatile. This is an enterprise-grade Agent Platform to build and run Agents that can be used to run different systems and adapted across industries, whether you’re running a port, a factory, or even a finance company. So think of it as a “template” to run different types of industries
The first very interesting scenario is with SmartCom Travel, which is a Travel Agent, and together with the HUAWEI Cloud Versatile, it provides comprehensive business travel services for company staff. It helps to learn all the travel knowledge, management knowledge, and even employment travel history as well.
This means that it provides info for flights, hotels, trains, and then generates itineraries quickly based on the department requirements, in compliance with the company’s requirements. Hence, the overall booking duration is shortened from hours to just 2 minutes!
Then there is the Pangu Models, and this has 3 different levels, which is build on the ModelArts Studio that has data preparation and model development and gives evaluations accordingly.
Finally, there is CloudRobo. This platform gives intelligence to physical robots, empowering the robotics industry with cutting-edge AI. Imagine robots that not only move, but actually think smarter and safer too.
And no, not robots taking over the world, but real robots doing real work better, thanks to AI. This is because of the amount of real data collected via remote control and synthetic data. So it empowers robotic autonomy, perception, and adaptability, aligning with trends-like foundations.
Conclusion
So, after experiencing all this, my takeaway is pretty clear – HUAWEI Cloud isn’t just about storage or servers, it’s about empowering enterprises with massive AI computing infrastructure and AI platforms and tools that make a real business impact.
