Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro: Anticipated Features and Design Overhaul
As we eagerly await Apple’s official announcement, meanwhile, rumors surrounding the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have begun to surface, hinting at significant design changes and feature enhancements.

One of the most notable speculations is a substantial redesign of the rear camera system. Leaked CAD renders suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro models may have a large rectangular camera bump with rounded corners. Notably, this bump will house a triangular arrangement of the rear camera lenses. Moreover, this design shift follows recent trends seen in other smartphone brands. Ultimately, the goal is to create a more integrated and streamlined appearance.
Material and Build
The iPhone 17 Pro is rumoured to feature an aluminium frame, marking a significant shift from the titanium used in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. Additionally, it is expected to have a back design that combines aluminium and glass. As a result, this change could not only introduce a fresh look but also enhance durability.
Performance Upgrades
Under the hood, the 17 Pro is anticipated to be powered by Apple’s next-generation A19 Pro chip, manufactured using TSMC’s advanced third-generation 3nm process. This upgrade is expected to deliver modest performance gains and enhanced power efficiency compared to its predecessors.
Enhanced Connectivity
Connectivity improvements are also on the horizon, with all iPhone 17 models, including the Pro variants, rumored to feature an Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip. This transition from Broadcom to an in-house design could result in faster and more reliable wireless performance.
Camera Enhancements
Photography enthusiasts have a reason to celebrate. According to reports, all iPhone 17 models will feature an upgraded 24-megapixel front-facing camera. This is a major upgrade, as it doubles the resolution of the current 12-megapixel sensor. Furthermore, the 17 Pro Max is expected to include a 48-megapixel rear Telephoto camera. This, in turn, marks a significant improvement over the existing 12-megapixel sensor.
Additional Features
Other anticipated features include an anti-reflective display that is more scratch-resistant than the Ceramic Shield found on previous models, as well as the potential introduction of a mechanical aperture in at least one iPhone 17 model, allowing users to manually adjust the lens opening to control light intake.
