Leaked GoPro Hero8 Black Details Reveal Exciting New Features

There’s been so much action going around lately with a host of action cameras rising to challenge GoPro. If leaks are to be believed, GoPro is not taking this fight lying down. It turns out there is a new Hero8 Black in development and it is set to focus a lot on accessories that enhance its video capture capabilities.

This includes accessories like a mountable display, external LED Flash and a media module that will add two hot shoes on top and on the bottom.

There is one big change coming to Hero8 Black and that’s a hinged mounting plate built into the bottom of the camera, which makes it easier to attach the action camera to a tripod or gimbal. This change has resulted in the battery and memory card slot moved to the right edge of the camera.

But apart from that, the new Hero8 Black is expected to hold the same 12-Megapixel sensor from the Hero7 Black and Hero6 Black. It is speculated that it will be able to record 4K videos up to 60fps now and possibly record regular 1080p at a buttery smooth 240fps, which makes it perfect for recording slow-motion videos.

Ready for anything, the new Hero8 Black to be water-resistant up to a depth of 10 meters. For safety, the action camera will also be able to use a cute orange “lifejacket” to provide additional protection while helping it float and not sink to the bottom of the sea.

There is no word when the GoPro Hero8 Black is set to be announced but it could be announced as early as September.
