Katsura Hashino is Already Working on New JRPG
Katsura Hashino, the mastermind behind the iconic Persona series and the recent Metaphor: ReFantazio, has revealed that he’s already begun work on his next project.
In a recent interview with Famitsu, Hashino, alongside Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama, was asked about his future plans following the release of Metaphor. The director confirmed, surprisingly, that he has a new game in the works. He has been conceptualising it for some time.
Hashino explained that he doesn’t approach game development as an individual effort. Instead, he focuses on the overall direction of his studio, Atlus, while keeping players’ desires in mind. His goal is to create games that satisfy the audience. He also aims to bring success and happiness to his team.
While the exact details of Hashino’s new project remain shrouded in mystery, it’s clear that it’s not Persona 6. After the release of Persona 5, Hashino stepped away from P-Studio to establish Studio Zero, the team behind Metaphor. Considering his past successes and the benefits of splitting the team, it’s clear that Hashino’s next project will be both significant and exciting. Whatever he’s working on is sure to make an impact.
