Unprecedented Demand Prompts Lenovo to Cancel Legion Go 2 Pre-orders
Lenovo has announced the cancellation of some pre-orders for its highly anticipated Legion Go 2 portable gaming console, citing demand that “substantially exceeded” the company’s projections. The company has also temporarily paused all pre-orders on its official website, Lenovo.com, as it works to manage the overwhelming consumer interest.

The news was confirmed in an updated post on the Legion Go subreddit, where the Lenovo Legion Team had been hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session. The team revealed that, due to the high volume of orders, they had to take action behind the scenes. In an official statement, the company explained its decision to cancel orders rather than simply delay them.
“We don’t believe in holding onto customer payments for products we can’t ship in a timely manner,” the team stated.
To address the demand, Lenovo confirmed that additional units are already being shipped to major global retailers. The company expects that availability at these retail outlets and on their respective websites will improve in the coming weeks. Lenovo.com will also reopen for new orders once its online inventory has been replenished.
For those who have already placed a pre-order on the Lenovo website, Lenovo advises double-checking the order status. If an order has been cancelled, the company suggests that customers may have better luck securing a unit from a local retailer. The team also pledged to “improve and ensure a better process moving forward” for future product launches.
The Lenovo Legion Go 2 is set to release in Malaysia next month with a retail price of RM5,399.
