Meta Boosts Messenger with AI and New Features

Meta is continuing to enhance its messaging platform, Messenger, with a slew of new features designed to improve user experience.

AI-Powered Noise Suppression and HD Video Calls

Messenger HD Video Calls

One of the standout features is the introduction of AI-powered noise suppression. This innovative technology aims to reduce background noise during calls, ensuring clearer and more focused conversations.

To further elevate video calling, Messenger is now offering HD video calls and voice isolation. Users can easily enable these features through the call settings menu. HD calls are now the default for Wi-Fi connections and an optional feature for cellular networks.

Meta is also bringing a digital voicemail-like feature to Messenger. When a contact is unavailable, users can now record and send audio or video messages. This feature provides a convenient way to communicate even when the recipient isn’t immediately available.

For iOS users, Siri integration is now available. Users can ask Siri to make calls or send messages on Messenger, streamlining the process and enhancing accessibility.

AI-Generated Backgrounds

Building on the success of its AI-powered features, Meta is introducing AI-generated backgrounds for video calls. Users can create custom backgrounds by tapping the “effects” icon during a video call and selecting “Backgrounds.”

A Continuous Evolution

These latest updates follow a series of significant improvements to Messenger. In recent months, Meta has launched community features, integrated the Meta AI chatbot into the search bar, and added tools for sharing large files. Additionally, end-to-end encryption has become the default for Messenger conversations.
