2021, specifically Q4 2021, is expected to be an exciting time for foldable devices. Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Samsung are all rumoured to announce new foldable devices later in the year and thanks to Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, we have some details about the upcoming Xiaomi foldable.
Based on this leak, the new foldable from Xiaomi might come with an inward folding screen design, similar to the Mi Mix Fold which was launched in China. This leak also indicates that this new foldable will be rather similar to the Mi Mix Fold.
The new device will also pack a 108MP sensor and a 5000mAh battery. In terms of the chip, it might not use the latest processor from Qualcomm that is launching in December but will probably use the existing Snapdragon 888 processor.
The device might also pack an under-display selfie camera and a faster display. The Mi Mix Fold has a 60Hz internal display and a 90Hz refresh rate outer display. This new device on the other hand is expected to have a 120Hz internal display and the outer screen will be a 90Hz refresh rate display.
The main takeaway from these leaks are that Xiaomi will probably be launching a foldable that will be very similar to the Mi Mix Fold. Xiaomi has not started teasing any devices so we will have to wait and see what the tech giants have in store.
