POCO F7 Unveiled: Flagship Performance, Aggressive Pricing, and Debut of Rydr
POCO officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the POCO F7, in Malaysia. Marking a significant advancement in its product line, the POCO F7 promises to redefine flagship performance accessibility, driven by the powerful new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform. The launch also introduces Rydr, POCO’s first virtual avatar, symbolising the brand’s commitment to speed, power, and intelligent action.
Performance
The heart of the POCO F7 is the recently debuted Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, featuring an all-big-core CPU architecture designed for faster and more efficient processing. This results in an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 2,084,535, indicating over 30% performance improvement from its predecessor.
To sustain this high performance, the device incorporates POCO’s most advanced cooling system to date: a 6000mm² 3D Dual-Channel IceLoop System with the largest Loop Heat Pipe ever used in a POCO device. Powering the F7 is a substantial 6500mAh (typ) battery, the largest in the POCO F Series, ensuring extended usage. Complementing this is 90W HyperCharge technology, capable of charging the battery to 80% in just 30 minutes. The device also supports 22.5W reverse charging for added convenience.
The POCO F7 runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, enhanced with WildBoost Optimization 4.0 for gaming, offering features like 1.5K Super Resolution and up to 120FPS in titles like Genshin Impact. The Surge T1s signal tuner bolsters connectivity by improving cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth stability.
Display and Camera
For visual experience, the POCO F7 boasts a 6.83-inch 1.5K ultra-bright display with a peak brightness of 3200 nits and 25% APL coverage for enhanced visibility in bright conditions. It features Sunlight Display 4.0 and comes with multiple TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye comfort, including Low Blue Light (Hardware Solution), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly. The display also supports 3840Hz PWM dimming, Wet Touch Display 2.0, and an ultra-responsive 2560Hz instant touch sampling rate.
In terms of photography, the F7 is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS, designed for high-quality images across various lighting conditions, supported by features like UltraSnap, Live Photo, and versatile focal lengths for portraiture (26mm, 35mm, and 52mm). The new AI Beautify function further refines image quality without overprocessing. The device also features a streamlined design with a CNC-integrated aluminium alloy frame, a glass back cover, and minimal bezels, achieving a 94.23% screen-to-body ratio. Durability is ensured with a reinforced structure (rated up to 70kg bending resistance) and IP68 dust and water resistance. A special POCO F7 Cyber Silver Edition features a distinctive Snapdragon logo on the back.
