realme is making a move for the high-end market with the global launch of the realme GT 6. In a recent interview with Forbes, the company’s founder and CEO, Sky Li, has positioned the phone as a “flagship killer,” aiming to offer competitive features at a potentially lower price point than established high-end brands.
realme GT 6 Gearing for Launch
One of the key highlights of the GT 6 is its focus on AI. The phone will integrate AI functionalities in three areas: imaging, efficiency, and personalisation. realme hasn’t revealed any specific details yet. Furthermore, leaks suggest the global GT 6 will be a rebranded version of the realme GT Neo 6. The GT Neo 6 recently launched in China.
The global GT 6 might feature a large 6.78-inch OLED display. It could have a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The device may be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. It might come paired with up to 16GB of RAM. Additionally, it could offer a whopping 1TB of storage. A long-lasting 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging is also a possibility.
In terms of cameras, the global GT 6 might feature a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Moving to the rear camera system, it could be led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) for sharper photos and videos, complemented by an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. Moreover, the phone is expected to run on realme UI 5 based on the latest Android 14 operating system.
It’s important to remember that realme plans to launch a Pro variant of the device for the Chinese market This phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and is expected to arrive in China sometime in June or July.
