Samsung’s popular Galaxy Watch series is known for its elegant design and rotating bezel. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra breaks tradition with a unique squarish form factor while retaining the beloved rotating bezel.

Fresh Design with a Squarish Twist

The most striking change is the watch’s squarish outer frame surrounding the familiar circular display. This gives the Watch7 Ultra a distinctive look compared to previous models. The shiny rotating bezel creates an interesting contrast with the matte frame.

While significantly different from Apple Watches’ square design, the Watch7 Ultra maintains a round display for a comfortable user experience. This ensures the user interface doesn’t require a rework and remains familiar to existing users.

Larger Display and Increased Size

The display size stays the same at 1.5 inches, but the overall watch is slightly larger (47 x 47.4 x 16.4 mm) due to the added squarish bezel. The rotating bezel features subtle lines and minimalistic indicators, a departure from the numeric markings of the past.

Exciting New Features

The Galaxy Watch7 Ultra introduces a third physical button on the right side, hinting at potential new functionalities similar to the Apple Watch Ultra’s Action Button.

On the back, the health sensor layout changes to a circular array of individual shapes. The temperature sensor remains but is repositioned slightly upwards.

Improved User Experience

The watch bands seem to integrate more seamlessly with the watch body for a cleaner look. Additionally, there might be a new mechanism for detaching the bands, replacing the buttons previously found on the bands themselves.

Larger speaker grills hint at improved audio quality, further enhanced by additional microphones spotted on the watch’s body.

More to Come

Earlier rumours suggest a new chipset, 50% faster charging, and possibly even blood sugar monitoring for the Galaxy Watch7 series. We can expect Samsung to officially unveil the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra at its Unpacked event in Paris this 10th July.
