Sony Officially Launches The WF-1000XM4 Earbuds

A few weeks ago, we reported about leaks of the successors to Sony’s well received WF-1000XM3 earbuds, the WF-1000XM4’s and stated that they should be launching very soon. Today, Sony has officially launched the device for $279.99 and they also announced that the previous iteration, the WF-1000XM3 will still be sold for a cheaper $229.99.

The earbuds feature a different design that feature a 10% smaller footprint compared to the XM3’s and they also have a new noise cancelling chip which according to Sony will improve noise cancellation at all frequencies. The battery life of the deice has also been increased to 8 hours of continuous playback when noise cancellation is turned on and the charging case, while 40% smaller does support Qi Wireless Charging and also charging via USB-C. Sony have also made the earbuds IPX4 water and sweat resistant. There is however, still no support for multipoint Bluetooth connections.

The buds have officially launched in the US today and will be available in either black or light grey but there is still no word on when they will be released in Malaysia so stay tuned for updates on that.
