TECNO Unveils New Phantom Ultimate 2 Tri-Fold Display Phone

TECNO Phantom Ultimate 2: A Tri-Fold Concept Phone

TECNO Mobile has taken a bold and interesting step into the future of smartphone design, unveiling the Phantom Ultimate 2 as a tri-fold concept device. This intriguing device showcases the company’s ambition to compete in the rapidly evolving foldable smartphone market.

While the video demonstration is brief, it offers a glimpse into the potential of this innovative design. Unlike traditional book-style foldables, the Phantom Ultimate 2 folds into a Z-shape, allowing for a more compact form factor. When closed, the outer screen measures 6.48 inches, expanding to a generous 10-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio when fully opened.

The tri-fold design offers a multitude of possibilities. Users can enjoy immersive video experiences on the larger screen, seamlessly transfer files between applications using drag-and-drop, and even run up to three apps simultaneously in multi-window mode. One of the most intriguing features is the ability to fold one of the screens into a stand, allowing for hands-free usage without the need for a separate holder. Additionally, one screen can transform into a keyboard, while the others display content at a substantial size.

On the back, the Phantom Ultimate 2 boasts a triple camera system, each featuring a 50MP sensor. While specific details about other hardware specifications remain under wraps, TECNO has confirmed that the device is remarkably thin at just 11mm when fully folded, though it appears even slimmer when unfolded.

It’s important to note that TECNO’s tri-fold device is currently a concept device, and there are no immediate plans for commercialization. However, its unveiling signifies TECNO’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone technology and exploring new form factors. As the foldable smartphone market continues to grow, the Phantom Ultimate 2 serves as a tantalising glimpse into what the future may hold.
