Motorola have already released a number of budget smartphones this year and a new leak suggests that the company could be gearing up to release devices with higher specs soon.
Evan Blass has leaked specs for three new 2021 Motorola devices. One of them will have a global and a North America variant. This is the table of specs leaked:
These devices, according to Blass, could be put under the Motorola Edge branding which would mean they will be coming with curved displays.
Based on the chart, only the phone codenamed “Berlin” will be arriving in the US. This device is a 700-series device and has a huge battery so it positions itself as a midrange phone. The global variant of Berlin, though, shrinks the battery down and introduces a telephoto lens. It’s unfortunate that Motorola is introducing those trade-offs, but its region-exclusive strategy makes it likely that few will know there was even an option.
“Kyoto”, the next device on the list has a MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor which is another midrange chip. The “P Star” device is the best speced device as it comes with a Snapdragon 870 and features a 108MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra wide sensor and an 8MP telephoto lens.
This leak suggests that we should see these devices launch soon so stay tuned for that.
