Later this year, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with new reports suggesting that these devices could be slightly cheaper than the Z Flip and Z Fold 2.
SamMobile suggests that these new devices could be up to 20 percent cheaper than the previous models and while the outlet does not have a source to this report, they do have a decent track record regarding Samsung related leaks.
The Galaxy Z Flip was launched at $1380 and the Z Fold 2 was launched at $2000 so taking that into account, a 20 parent price cut would put the Z Flip 3 at just above $1000 and the Z Fold 3 at $1600 which is indeed a rather significant price cut.
Foldable phones have always been categorised as premium devices so a price cut would definitely make them more accessible to the masses and it also means that foldable devices could be getting cheaper to make due to how long they have been around now.
Recent leaks also suggest that the Z Flip 3 will have a larger external display, dual cameras and be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus while the Z Fold 3 is set to have an under-display selfie camera and a triple rear camera. These devices will probably launch in Q3 2021.
