Well, if you don’t, I’m going to run you through some of my favorite features of the latest LG 32-inch UltraFineā„¢ Display Ergo 4K Monitor and why it may be the perfect productivity monitor for you.

Unboxing

First, let’s see what comes inside of the box.

Now to open the box correctly, please ensure that you have the box placed on the correct side up, where you will find the text ā€œopen hereā€ and then place it on a table.

Opening the box, there is a bag with lots of accessories in there, such as:

  • the booklet which shows what comes inside of the box
  • the cover sheet, owners manual, and warranty card
  • a 3-pin plug
  • the power adapter
  • the grommet tool and screws

And what’s extra sweet is that LG has provided with 3 cables as well:

  • a HDMI cable
  • a power adapter extension
  • a USB-C to USB-C cable

Next, there is the LG Ergo Monitor Stand and finally underneath, there is the LG Ergo Monitor.

Design & Build

Next, let’s talk about the design and build. This UltraFineā„¢ Display Ergo 4K Monitor is impeccably built with a clean, minimalist design.

Now the incredibly thin bezels all-around frames the 32-inch panel beautifully. I also like how thin the side profile is and the overall aesthetic is just spot on.

LG, as you know, makes amazing TVs, large format displays, and monitors. So you’d expect nothing but the best with the monitor. And it doesn’t disappoint because the UltraFineā„¢ Display Ergo Monitor features a 31.5-inch IPS display that has a 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels with a 16:9 ratio. It’s a top-notch panel that features realistic, true color, contrast, clarity, and detail at wide angles.

It rocks a DCI-P3 95% and it is color calibrated, offers a typical brightness of 350 nits, HDR10, and a 60Hz refresh rate.

Yes, It may not be a high refresh rate gaming monitor per se, but it does feature a Game Mode with AMD FreeSync for a smoother, tear-free gaming experience.

Color reproduction is fantastic, so it has been great for my video editing and photo editing and I love that the panel itself has an anti-glare treatment to it, which is perfect for a super bright studio like this, or even in a darker environment as well.

Ergo Stand

If you move around and look at the back, that’s where some of the LG Ergo Monitor magic lies. As with its namesake, the UltraFineā„¢ Display Ergo 4K Monitor comes with a flexible ergonomic stand that enables it to be adapted to different environments whether in the office or at home.

Now since it comes with the monitor panel in the box as seen earlier, there’s no need for you to buy separate monitor arms, which is great!

The Ergo Stand is awesome. It allows you to easily change screen position – you can pull it nearer to you or further, and you can easily swivel and pivot the monitor, or adjust its height or tilt for the most optimum and comfortable viewing angle.

To be specific, you can extend or retract it up to 180mm, swivel up to 280 degrees, tilt it up to 25 degrees and adjust its height up to 130mm. In addition, you can even pivot it 90 degrees for those who like to use a monitor in portrait mode. Great for reading documents and browsing websites.

What’s good about the Ergo Stand is that it helps you save space on your desk, freeing it up for other accessories, or like me, keeping it minimal Adam Lobo style!

What’s also awesome about the Ergo Stand is how easy it is to set up. It’s tool-less, bolt-less, where with just a single click, the Ergo Stand attaches itself to the display’s back cover frame.

For safety’s sake though, you may want an extra hand to make sure you align the two parts properly.

Another thing that’s cool is that the Ergo Stand supports the familiar C-Clamp desk fixture and also uses a grommet to fit tables that have built-in cable holes.

And there’s nothing that can be more irritating than having a bunch of messy cables at the back of your desk. Thankfully, you can hide HDMI and USB cables inside the Ergo Stand that also allows for some free play so you can easily reposition the monitor at any time.

.

Connectivity and expansion

Now, since we’re on the subject of HDMI and USB cables, let’s take a look at connectivity and expansion options on the monitor.

The UltraFineā„¢ Display Ergo 4K Monitor is generous in this aspect, offering: two HDMI IN ports, a DisplayPort, an upstream USB Type-C port which is great for connecting with my MacBook Pro, supporting up to 4K resolution as well as Power Delivery of up to 60W and data transfer. On top of that, it also offers a headphones jack and two USB Type-A downstream ports.

It also comes with a pair of 5W speakers which are just OK, so it will be a great idea to pair it with good external speakers if you want to have a better audio experience.

.

Screen Control

Finally, the UltraFineā„¢ Display Ergo 4K Monitor comes with on-screen control that lets you manage a single monitor or a group of monitors. It boasts features such as Monitor Control, Display Presets and Screen Split, which is useful for organizing your on-screen workspace.
