Xiaomi Launches New Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) with Upgraded Processor and Wi-Fi 6
Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of the Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen), the latest iteration of its popular streaming device. Priced at RM239 and available now through the official Xiaomi Malaysia website, the new model introduces several key upgrades while maintaining its user-friendly Google TV platform.

The new Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) retains its support for 4K video decoding at 60 frames per second and now features Dolby Vision and HDR10+ compatibility, offering an enhanced and vibrant viewing experience.
The most significant improvement is its new 64-bit processor, which features a quad-core A55 CPU clocked at up to 2.5 GHz. This new hardware configuration is claimed to deliver a 25% increase in CPU performance and a substantial 130% boost in GPU performance compared to its predecessor. The device is equipped with 2GB of RAM and a generous 32GB of internal storage.
Running on the Google TV operating system, the device offers access to a wide variety of streaming applications, a built-in Chromecast for seamless content casting, and Google Assistant for convenient voice control. Connectivity has also been enhanced, with the new model supporting the faster and more stable Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 standards. Audiophiles will appreciate the upgrade to Dolby Audio and DTS:X, a step up from the DTS-HD found in the previous generation.

In terms of physical ports, the TV Box S (3rd Gen) comes with an HDMI 2.1 port and a USB 2.0 port. Notably, it lacks the dedicated audio output port present on the 2nd Gen model. The accompanying 360° Bluetooth remote retains its familiar design, featuring dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, and YouTube. The device itself is slightly larger than the previous model, measuring 97×97×17 mm.
