Apple Reportedly on the Brink of Launching M5-Powered MacBook Pro and iPad Pro
Multiple reports indicate Apple is preparing to unveil a new generation of devices powered by its latest M5 silicon chip. The new lineup is expected to include a refreshed 14-inch MacBook Pro, a new iPad Pro, and an updated Vision Pro headset.
The MacBook Pro is reportedly set to come with a touchscreen, while the iPad Pro was recently unboxed and showcased, revealing the unit itself and everything it came with.
The star of the show is the M5 chip, which is rumoured to deliver a significant leap in performance. Early benchmark leaks suggest the M5 could boast up to 12% faster multi-core CPU speeds and a substantial 36% improvement in graphics performance compared to the current M4 chip. This boost would further solidify Apple’s lead in custom processor performance for consumer devices.
While a launch appears imminent, the exact timing remains a subject of speculation. Some are pointing to a release window between late October 2025 and early 2026. Apple may opt for a staggered rollout, releasing the base M5-equipped MacBook Pro first, with the more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max variants following later in 2026.
Instead of a large-scale media event, sources suggest Apple might favour a quieter launch, announcing the new products through a series of press releases and updates on its website.
Beyond the immediate M5 lineup, Apple’s product roadmap for 2026 appears equally ambitious, with potential updates rumoured for the Mac mini, Mac Studio, and the high-end Mac Pro. Apple has yet to make any official announcements. For now, consumers and industry watchers will have to wait for the official word from Cupertino.
