When you think of smartphones, Infinix is probably not the first brand to come to mind as they are not really the most recognisable name in the industry. The brand has seen decent success with their mid-range and entry line of smartphones in the Middle East and African continent. However, Infinix now seem to be aiming high and have caught the attention of many with their newly announced Infinix Concept Phone 2021.
The most eye-catching feature of the device has to be the colour changing back. The firm says that the phone combines electrochromic film and electroluminescence film to deliver the first “dual colour-changing back cover” in the industry.
Infinix told Android Authority that, “When there is an incoming call, the back of the smartphone changes between silver grey and light blue. When charging, it will change colour and flash in the middle of the device.”

The concept device also features 160W wired charging which they call Ultra Fast Charge. Infinix claims that the phones 4000mAh battery can be topped up in 10 minutes which beats the likes of the 120W charging available on the Mi 10 Ultra. The charging brick can also be used to charge your laptop and phone with the same brick.
They have also said that the charger features over 60 protections to ensure safe charging. The temperature will not rise above 40 degrees Celsius. The phone also packs in 50W wireless charging.

The Infinix Concept Phone 2021 is not a flagship however. It packs in the Helio G95 4G chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This is no real surprise as Infinix have not actually released a phone with a flagship processor. In terms of cameras, the phone has a triple camera system with a main 64MP sensor, an 8MP 5x periscope lens and an 8MP 120 degree ultra wide lens. The front facing shooter is a 32MP sensor.
Other specs include an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 6.67-inch curved OLED display and Android 11 as well as Infinix’s custom skin.
This is not the first colour changing phone as OnePlus launched the Concept Phone One back at CES 2020. Infinix has said that they will continue to develop the tech so it can be brought to future devices.
