Selfix Case Brings a Second Screen to the iPhone 17 Pro Series

Selfix Unveils Smart Case That Adds a Functional Second Screen to the iPhone 17 Pro Series

A new accessory maker is looking to change how we interact with our phones by adding a dedicated second display to the back of the device.

Selfix announced its flagship smart case today. While it includes storage features, the headline attraction is undoubtedly the integrated rear AMOLED screen. This new display aims to fundamentally change how users capture content by putting a viewfinder exactly where content creators need it most.

A Second Screen Experience

The standout feature of the Selfix case is the 1.6-inch AMOLED touchscreen embedded in the rear panel. With a sharp 480×480 resolution, this secondary display essentially turns the iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max into a dual-screen device.

For years, users have had to guess their framing when using the main cameras or settle for lower-quality shots from the front sensor. The Selfix rear screen solves this hardware limitation by mirroring the camera view in real-time. It allows users to frame shots with precision while facing the rear of the phone.

“The best camera you own is on the back of your phone,” a spokesperson for Selfix stated. With this new display, users can finally see what that camera sees.

By using this rear interface, owners of the iPhone 17 Pro series can capture 48MP selfies and use true optical zoom ranging from 0.5x ultra-wide to 5x telephoto. The screen also helps users take advantage of the larger sensors for superior low-light photos, which is often difficult to do blindly.

More Than Just a Display

While the screen steals the show, the case also addresses storage concerns. It includes a MicroSD (TF) card slot tucked into the chassis.

In a market where upgrading internal storage costs hundreds of dollars, Selfix offers a different path. The case supports up to 2TB of expandable storage. This allows users to offload massive ProRes video files and high-resolution images directly to the card. It supports high-speed transfer standards (UHS-I, V90), meaning the external storage is fast enough for 4K video recording.

Seamless Connection

The Selfix case connects directly via the iPhone’s USB-C port. The company emphasises a “plug-and-play” design that requires no complex Bluetooth pairing or proprietary apps. It just works the moment you plug it in.

The case also features 100W PD pass-through charging. This ensures that powering the second screen and transfer speeds do not compromise battery life charging speeds.

Availability

The Selfix case is built specifically for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. It will launch in three colours: Oat White, Blush Pink, and Midnight Black.

Pricing details are still under wraps, but the company confirmed a Kickstarter campaign will launch soon with early-bird pricing.

By putting a display on the back, Selfix is offering a hardware solution to a long-standing design constraint of modern smartphones.
