BEST Express Malaysia Expands Smart Sorting Tech to Meet E-Commerce Scale
BEST Express Malaysia has announced a major expansion of its smart sorting chain solutions across its nationwide hub network, signalling a deeper push into automation and data-driven logistics as parcel volumes continue to climb.
At the centre of the upgrade is the rollout of advanced Dimensioning, Weighing, and Scanning (DWS) systems. These systems automate parcel measurement and identification while feeding real-time data into sorting workflows, allowing hubs to process shipments faster and with greater accuracy.

From a technology perspective, the move addresses one of the biggest pressures in Malaysia’s logistics sector: scale. With e-commerce platforms driving higher parcel density and tighter delivery expectations, BEST Express Malaysia says the expanded smart sorting infrastructure is designed to reduce manual handling, minimise errors, and maintain performance during peak periods.
The company noted that the technology will support both B2C and B2B shipments, enabling more consistent throughput across lightweight parcels and larger cargo items as volumes fluctuate throughout the year.
Alongside the automation rollout, BEST Express Malaysia also confirmed a unified operational strategy starting in early 2026. Its express and cargo services will be consolidated under a single BEST Express brand, supported by a shared operational and technology framework.
From a systems and platform standpoint, the integration is expected to improve data visibility across service types, streamline backend processes, and optimise resource allocation across the network. Operating express and cargo services under one structure allows the company to offer a more cohesive, end-to-end logistics solution without fragmenting workflows or infrastructure.
BEST Express Malaysia added that the combined smart sorting expansion and unified brand strategy reflect its continued investment in logistics technology, automation, and scalable systems as Malaysia’s supply chain becomes increasingly digital and e-commerce driven.
