Google AI Pro and AI Ultra Plans: Access Advanced Gemini, Video Generation, and More

Google recently announced the launch of two new paid subscription tiers for its suite of artificial intelligence features, dubbed “AI Pro” and “AI Ultra.” The company has positioned these premium plans above the existing Google One subscription offerings, signalling its commitment to delivering advanced AI capabilities to users.

AI Pro Tier: Enhanced Gemini and Video Capabilities Now Available

You can now subscribe to the AI Pro tier for RM97.99 per month, with a one-month free trial for new users. This package provides users with access to the Gemini app, now powered by the enhanced 2.5 Pro model. A significant addition is the integration of video generation through Veo 2, which also includes expanded limits for creating videos from images.

Subscribers to AI Pro will also benefit from access to NotebookLM, Google’s AI-powered research and writing assistant designed to streamline workflows for students, researchers, and writers. To enhance productivity, Google has integrated the Gemini AI assistant directly into popular applications like Gmail and Docs, where it offers contextual assistance and intelligent features within these familiar environments. The AI Pro plan also includes a substantial 2TB of cloud storage. Notably, access to the new Flow video editor app and Gemini in Chrome are part of this tier, although these features are currently limited to users in the United States.

AI Ultra Tier: Unlocking Deep Think and Massive Storage

For users demanding even more advanced AI capabilities, Google introduced the AI Ultra tier. This premium subscription comes at a significantly higher price point of RM1,229.90 per month. However, Google is also offering a three-month subscription option for RM614.90 per month. The AI Ultra plan encompasses all the features available in the AI Pro tier, while also unlocking access to even more powerful tools. These include Gemini 2.5 Pro Deep Think, which suggests enhanced reasoning and analytical capabilities, and Veo 3, which promises further advancements in video generation with even higher creation limits. Google has also increased the limits for NotebookLM and Gemini within its apps for Ultra subscribers.

AI Ultra users will also get early access to a new initiative called Project Mariner, though the announcement did not fully disclose its details. The plan also boasts a massive 30TB of cloud storage, catering to users with extensive data needs. As an added perk, the AI Ultra subscription includes an individual YouTube Premium plan, which currently costs RM21.90 per month on its own, providing ad-free viewing and other premium benefits on YouTube.

Global Availability and Future Expansion

While the AI Pro tier is available to users globally, certain features in the AI Ultra tier are currently limited to the United States. Google has stated that it plans to roll out the AI Ultra subscription to other countries in the near future, though specific timelines were not provided.
