HP Malaysia is taking a unique approach to bridging the AI skills gap in the country by unveiling the HP AI PC Lab. Through this innovative roving initiative, the company aims to empower educators and students with both the essential knowledge and tools needed to navigate a technology-driven future.
HP Malaysia Equipping Educators for the Digital Classroom
The HP AI PC Lab will embark on a six-week journey across 25 locations in Malaysia. To begin with, it will target High Performance Secondary Schools (Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi). Moreover, the lab, equipped with HP’s latest AI-powered PCs, is expected to reach over 5,000 individuals. This includes educators, students, and the general public, ensuring a broad impact throughout the initiative.
The initiative aligns perfectly with the Ministry of Education’s 2023 Digital Education Policy and the recent Teacher’s Day theme, “Guru Jauhari Digital” (Digital-Savvy Teachers). Moreover, this program aims to enhance educators’ knowledge and digital capabilities, ultimately enabling them to seamlessly integrate AI tools into their teaching practices.
Hands-On Experience with Cutting-Edge Technology
“As Malaysia embraces the growing potential of AI, we recognize the importance of preparing our educators and students for this shift,” said Alex Tan, Managing Director of HP Malaysia. “The HP AI PC Lab reflects our commitment to bridging the technology gap and enabling students and educators to become more resilient in a future where AI literacy is crucial.”
The lab will offer visitors hands-on experiences with HP’s latest AI-powered PCs, including the:
- HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14: This versatile 2-in-1 laptop boasts an Intel Core Ultra processor with a dedicated AI engine, providing exceptional performance and up to 20 hours of battery life – perfect for diverse learning environments.
- HP EliteBook 800 G11: Built for today’s dynamic classrooms, the EliteBook 800 G11 utilises Intel Core Ultra processors with AI capabilities to enhance productivity. It also prioritizes collaboration features and daily performance, all while incorporating sustainable practices – featuring at least 75% PCR plastic in the bezel.
Building a Future-Ready Workforce
This initiative comes at a pivotal time for Malaysia’s tech landscape. The World Economic Forum highlights AI and machine learning specialists as some of the most in-demand jobs globally. Furthermore, Cybersecurity Malaysia reports Malaysia ranks 2nd in ASEAN and 23rd globally for AI readiness, showcasing the country’s commitment to this technological future.
The HP AI PC Lab extends beyond educational institutions. The six-week tour will also visit shopping centres and popular public spots across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka, Johor, and Penang, offering the broader community a chance to engage with AI and explore its potential.
