HUAWEI Mate X7 Debuts in Malaysia With 8-Inch Foldable Display and 5,600mAh Battery
HUAWEI has officially launched the HUAWEI Mate X7 in Malaysia, bringing its most refined foldable smartphone yet to the local market. The launch also marks the nationwide availability of the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 open-ear earbuds and new additions to the WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN and WATCH GT 6 series.
The HUAWEI Mate X7 is positioned as a premium foldable designed for everyday use, balancing performance, durability and comfort. It features HUAWEI’s X-True dual display system, combining a 6.49-inch outer screen with a large 8-inch inner foldable display. Adaptive refresh rates ensure smooth scrolling, multitasking and media playback across both screens.
Despite its expansive display, the HUAWEI Mate X7 remains slim and comfortable to hold. HUAWEI’s quad-curved foldable design is paired with the Time Space Gate camera module and Light Woven Brocade finish, giving the phone a polished, premium look. The device is available in Nebula Red, Classic Black and Brocade White.
Photography is a key focus. The Mate X7 uses HUAWEI’s True-to-Colour Camera system for improved colour accuracy and light capture, supported by an Ultra Lighting HDR Camera and a 50MP telephoto macro camera with 3.5x optical zoom. For video, the phone supports Ultra HDR 4K recording, targeting creators and users who want cinematic results on a foldable device.
Durability has also been upgraded. The outer display is protected by Ultra-Durable Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass, while the inner screen is reinforced by an Advanced Precision Hinge and a three-layer composite structure. The Mate X7 carries IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings, offering added confidence for daily use.

The device is powered by a 5,600mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless HUAWEI SuperCharge. Practical AI features such as AI Remove, AI Best Expression, Face-to-Face Translation and two-way AI noise cancellation are built in to enhance photography, communication and everyday tasks.
In Malaysia, the HUAWEI Mate X7 is priced at RM8,688 and is available for pre-order from 20 January via HUAWEI Experience Stores, the official HUAWEI website, and platforms including Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.
Pre-order customers will receive gifts worth up to RM7,597, including a HUAWEI Watch 5, MatePad 11.5, HUAWEI Care+ with one-time screen protection, and trade-in rebates of up to RM2,000. The Mate X7 will also be offered through Maxis, with postpaid plans starting from RM170 per month.
Alongside the Mate X7, HUAWEI has confirmed the availability of the FreeClip 2 open-ear earbuds at RM699 after rebate, as well as new wearables including the WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Royal Gold Edition and the WATCH GT 6 series, strengthening its flagship ecosystem in the local market.
