iPhone 19 Air Rumoured for 2027 with Potential Large Display

iPhone 19 Air Could Feature Significantly Larger Screen

Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a predicted launch schedule for upcoming Apple iPhones, suggesting the introduction of an “iPhone 19 Air” model in the second half of 2027. This new addition is anticipated to feature a larger display than its predecessors.

Display Speculation

While the precise screen size of the iPhone 19 Air, also referred to as “Slim” by Kuo, remains undisclosed, sources point to earlier reports hinting at a significant increase. According to a previous newsletter by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple had initially experimented with a 6.9-inch display for the iPhone 17 Air, matching the size of the current Pro Max model. Apple reportedly abandoned the 6.9-inch size due to concerns about potential bending issues, but it may revisit this size for the iPhone 19 Air. Earlier online leaks also mentioned this 6.9-inch dimension in relation to the phone’s physical design.

Shift in Release Strategy

Kuo’s predicted timeline also supports prior reports indicating a shift in Apple’s traditional annual iPhone release cycle to a biannual approach. Apple reportedly made this strategic change to create a more flexible product lineup and prevent the Pro models from overshadowing the standard iPhones. By splitting the releases, Apple aims to compete more effectively in the Chinese market, where many manufacturers launch new devices early in the year. This approach also helps Apple optimize marketing efforts across the entire iPhone range.

It is important to note that these predictions, especially those concerning devices slated for release two years in the future, are subject to change.
