Apple’s vision for the future of AirPods appears to extend beyond simple audio playback, with whispers of integrated cameras and advanced AI capabilities gaining traction. In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reaffirmed that Apple is actively developing AirPods equipped with tiny cameras designed to enhance AI features by capturing environmental data.

Infrared Sensors, Not Traditional Cameras

This isn’t the first time the prospect of camera-enabled AirPods has surfaced. Gurman previously indicated that these “cameras” would likely be infrared sensors, rather than traditional image sensors.
