Lenovo’s Rollable Display Gets Horizontal: The Legion Pro Ultrawide is Here
Lenovo is poised to redefine the portable gaming experience with the introduction of the Legion Pro Rollable, an upcoming laptop featuring a unique, horizontally expanding display, according to exclusive information obtained by Windows Latest. The high-performance machine, expected to debut in early 2026, will run on Windows 11 and is specifically engineered to deliver a portable ultrawide gaming experience.
Unlike the previously announced ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, which unfurled vertically for productivity, the Legion Pro Rollable is designed for gamers. Its key feature is a flexible display that expands outward from both the left and right sides of the chassis, ultimately achieving an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio when fully deployed. This ratio is considered ideal for immersive gaming and content creation.
The device is slated for a potential launch at CES 2026 and will be powered by an Intel Core Ultra processor, aligning with Intel’s focus on AI-accelerated hybrid workloads. The inclusion of a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard further suggests integration with AI-enhanced features within the Windows 11 operating system.
Building on a Proven Foundation
The Legion Pro Rollable benefits from Lenovo’s previous engineering work on its first rollable device. The company has already successfully developed and validated the complex mechanical components, including the motorised spindle system, flexible POLED panel, and tension frame, required to build a reliable expanding screen.
The switch to a gaming chassis, which typically allows for more internal volume, provides Lenovo with additional space to house the necessary roller mechanisms without making the laptop feel excessively bulky. While the exact expanded screen size remains unknown (estimated between 14 to 16 inches), a minimum refresh rate of 120Hz is anticipated, given that even the business-focused ThinkBook model achieved that specification.
The new Legion device signals a clear intention to target competitive gamers, enthusiasts, and content creators who demand both high portability and the immersive benefits of an ultrawide display without compromising on a traditional laptop form factor.
