Team FOLON, the creators of Fallout: London, officially announced the release of their total conversion mod for Fallout 4. Gamers eagerly await this mod for its meticulously crafted world and engaging new lore, making it one of the most anticipated Fallout 4 total conversion mods. Set in a post-apocalyptic version of London in 2237, the mod promises an immersive gaming experience.
Fallout: London is coming to you soon!
Initially revealed in 2021 by Team FOLON, a non-profit group comprising both amateur and professional developers from across the globe, Fallout: London explores the aftermath of a nuclear war on the British capital between the events of the first two games in the Fallout franchise.
The mod is set to release on April 23, 2024, coinciding with St. George’s Day. Accompanying this announcement is the unveiling of a launch trailer showcasing iconic London landmarks like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace in their post-apocalyptic iterations. The team, influenced by the backgrounds of members residing in conflict-affected countries, extended the testing phase and pushed back the release date, even though the mod was “content-complete.”
A notable departure from Fallout 4’s American setting, Fallout: London, seeks to delve into new cultures and pre-war European history. Furthermore, the mod introduces entirely new factions, including the Fifth Column, Camelot, Tommies, and London’s Gentry, offering a unique perspective on the Fallout lore.
Promising a DLC-sized experience with several hours of gameplay, Fallout: London’s expansive landmass is comparable to the expansions of Fallout 4. To provide a sense of scale, the Far Harbor DLC in Fallout 4 takes approximately 30 minutes to traverse on foot, indicating that Fallout: London will be vast and filled with captivating details.
The release timing aligns strategically with the premiere of Amazon Studios’ Fallout TV show on April 12, 2024, two weeks ahead of the mod’s release. Although the TV series is set in 2296 in the United States, it is anticipated that its debut will generate interest in the mod, potentially attracting new players to Fallout 4 or prompting dedicated fans to revisit the game.
