MSI has just announced its full support for AMD’s latest Ryzen 9000 Series processors. Built on advanced 4nm process technology, these processors promise to redefine performance, efficiency, and versatility for gamers and content creators alike.
AMD Ryzen 9000 Series: A New Era of Performance
The Ryzen 9000 Series boasts impressive specifications, including up to 16 cores, 32 threads, a maximum boost clock of 5.7GHz, and a generous 64MB of L3 cache. Despite the powerful performance, AMD has reduced power consumption, resulting in cooler and quieter operation.
MSI has optimised its lineup of motherboards to harness the potential of these new processors fully. The MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI and PRO X870-P WIFI are the first to hit the market, featuring a sleek new design and a host of user-friendly innovations. Key features include:
- EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II: Effortless installation and removal of M.2 SSDs.
- EZ PCIe Release: Easy removal of large graphics cards with a single push.
- EZ Antenna: Simplified Wi-Fi antenna installation.
Unleashing Overclocking Potential with Performance Switch and BIOS Enhancements
MSI’s exclusive Performance Switch feature, combined with AMD’s Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), offers users multiple overclocking profiles for optimal performance. Additionally, the new BIOS features, Memory Try It! and High Efficiency Mode, provide easy-to-use memory overclocking options.
AMD’s Optimized Performance Profile (OPP) further enhances memory performance by automatically finding the ideal memory frequency and timings for the CPU.
Advanced Software Tools for Fine-Tuning
MSI and AMD have introduced several software tools to optimise system performance:
- Memory Overclocking On The Fly (OC OTF): Seamlessly switch between JEDEC and EXPO memory speeds for stability and performance.
- Curve Shaper: Fine-tune voltage curves for enhanced undervolting and stability.
Compatibility and Upgradability
At launch, 8th August, AMD Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X are available while the Ryzen 9 9950X and 9900X will launch on 15th August. These processors will feature up to 16 cores and 32 threads, with a theoretical maximum boost clock speed of 5.7GHz, 64MB of L3 cache, and a maximum TDP of 170W.
AMD Ryzen 9000 Series will also support PCIe 5.0 for the GPU and M.2 while enhancing DDR5 memory speed. Notably, the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X offers approximately 12% better overall performance than the first-gen AMD 3D V-cache CPU. All these processors are compatible with the AM5 socket, and existing AMD 600 Series motherboards and Ryzen 9000 Series processors can seamlessly integrate by updating to the latest BIOS, available on MSI’s product support page.
