After revealing the Xiaomi 14T Series last week, Xiaomi has now expanded its wearable lineup with the introduction of two new smartwatches under its Redmi sub-brand. Specifically, the new models are the Watch 5 Lite and the Watch 5 Active. Both of these devices run on Xiaomi’s HyperOS operating system. Additionally, they offer a variety of features designed for fitness tracking and everyday use.
Redmi Watch 5 Lite
The Watch 5 Lite boasts a 1.6-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 600 nits, ensuring clear visibility even in bright sunlight. Equipped with built-in GPS, it accurately tracks your outdoor activities and workouts. With over 150 sports modes, users can monitor their fitness progress across a variety of exercises. The smartwatch is also water resistant up to 5ATM, making it suitable for swimming.
In terms of battery life, Xiaomi claims that the Watch 5 Lite can last up to 18 days on a single charge. Additionally, the smartwatch features a built-in speaker for hands-free calling via Bluetooth.
Redmi Watch 5 Active
The Watch 5 Active features a larger 2-inch LCD display, providing more screen real estate for viewing notifications and information. However, unlike its Lite counterpart, it does not come with built-in GPS. Despite the lack of GPS, the Watch 5 Active still offers water resistance and a wide range of sports modes to track your fitness activities. It also includes sensors for monitoring heart rate and blood oxygen saturation levels.
Similar to the Watch 5 Lite, the Watch 5 Active can last up to 18 days on a single charge and supports Bluetooth calling.
Pricing and Availability
The Watch 5 Lite is priced at RM259, while the Watch 5 Active is available for RM199. As part of an early bird promotion, Xiaomi is offering the Watch 5 Lite at a discounted price of RM199 and the Watch 5 Active at RM129. These discounted prices can be availed through Xiaomi’s official online store.
