ROG Launches New ROG XG Mobile: Ultra-Portable Performance Supercharger with Thunderbolt 5

ASUS Unveils Redesigned ROG XG Mobile Featuring NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti and Next-Gen Connectivity

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has officially launched the latest iteration of its portable external GPU solution, the ROG XG Mobile, positioning it as a major breakthrough for gamers and content creators seeking desktop-class power without sacrificing mobility.

ROG XG Mobile RTX 5070 Ti

The new ROG XG Mobile (GC34R) is built around a potent NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, promising serious rendering and gaming power for users who connect it via a single, dedicated Thunderbolt connection to their compatible ROG laptop.

A significant highlight of the launch is the XG Mobile’s inclusion of the new Thunderbolt 5 connection. This is one of the first devices to feature the connection, enabling lightning-fast transfer speeds of up to 80 gigabits per second (Gbit/s), which is crucial for maximising the performance of the high-end external GPU. The connectivity hub also features comprehensive expandability, including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, SD Card reader, HDMI 2.1, and DP 2.1 ports.

Sleeker Design, Superior Cooling

Beyond its raw power, the new XG Mobile features a significantly refreshed design. ROG has managed to reduce the unit’s footprint by 18.2% in size and 26.8% in weight compared to its previous generation, making it genuinely lightweight and portable at less than 1kg.

To handle the immense heat generated by the powerful components in such a compact chassis, the device employs ROG’s Intelligent Cooling system, which includes a Vapour Chamber and Dust Filter. This setup provides a reported 150% more cooling surface, ensuring sustained performance during demanding tasks and extended gaming sessions.
