Samsung Reportedly Developing Larger 200MP ISOCELL Sensor
TL;DR: Samsung is rumoured to be working on a new 200MP 1/1.3-inch camera sensor called ISOCELL HPC.
Samsung is reportedly preparing a new high-end 200MP camera sensor that could push smartphone imaging further into premium territory.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the company is developing a 1/1.3-inch type sensor called the ISOCELL HPC. If accurate, this would make it physically larger than the existing HPB sensor used in devices like vivo’s X300 and X300 Pro, which measures 1/1.4-inch type.

Sensor size matters. A larger sensor generally captures more light, which can improve low-light performance, dynamic range, and overall image quality.
Moving from 1/1.4-inch to 1/1.3-inch may not sound dramatic, but in smartphone camera terms, even small increases in sensor size can deliver noticeable gains.
The ISOCELL HPC is said to target high-end flagship devices rather than midrange models.
The new sensor is rumoured to feature Samsung’s Ultra Fine Colour Filter (UFCC) technology. This approach is designed to reduce sensor thickness while improving light transmission and colour purity.
In practical terms, that could mean better colour accuracy without making camera modules thicker, a key consideration for slim flagship phones.
There is no official confirmation yet from Samsung, and final specifications could change before launch.
