Samsung Debuts Creaseless Display at CES 2026
The holy grail of foldables has arrived. At CES 2026, Samsung Display debuted a new screen technology that eliminates the visible crease, according to reliable insider Ice Universe.
Images shared by the tipster on X reveal a prototype panel that lies completely flat. This marks a significant leap from current generation foldables, effectively removing the noticeable groove down the centre.
The End of the Crease

Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) reports the panel shows “no crease at all” and excellent overall quality. The tech reportedly uses a new lamination process and hinge structure to keep the flexible glass perfectly taut.
“Samsung showcased a foldable display with no visible crease at CES 2026,” the leaker posted. “Most importantly, there is no crease at all.”
Beyond the smooth surface, the display features next-generation Under-Display Camera (UDC) technology. This ensures an immersive experience by removing the punch-hole cutout, addressing a key enthusiast complaint.
While likely debuting on Samsung’s own “Galaxy Wide Fold” or Galaxy Z Fold 8, the tipster suggests the primary beneficiary could be Apple.

Rumours of an Apple foldable have persisted for years. This “creaseless” panel may be the component Cupertino has been waiting for, with insiders speculating it is destined for the “iPhone Fold” rumoured for September 2026.
“This display technology is expected to be used by Apple,” Ice Universe noted, hinting at a major supply deal between the two tech giants.
If accurate, this development removes the biggest barrier for consumers. The crease has long been cited as a durability concern and aesthetic flaw, preventing foldables from feeling like true flagships.
By solving the crease and hiding the camera, Samsung Display has likely set the 2026 standard. Eyes are now on Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event to confirm which devices will debut this breakthrough screen.
