Samsung Galaxy Ring Finally Lands in Malaysia, Offers Discreet Health and Sleep Tracking

Slip it On, Track it All: Samsung Galaxy Ring Now Available in Malaysia

After much anticipation following its global unveiling last year, the Samsung Galaxy Ring has officially launched in Malaysia. This sleek and lightweight fitness tracker is designed to be worn comfortably on the finger. It promises a new era of seamless health and sleep monitoring.

One Ring to Track it All

The Galaxy Ring is impressively compact, measuring just 2.6mm thick. In terms of weight, it comes in between 2.3g and 3.3g, depending on the size you choose. Yet, despite its small and discreet form factor, it manages to pack a surprising amount of technology inside. For starters, it is powered by AI, it features an accelerometer, an optical heart rate sensor capable of tracking blood oxygen levels, and a skin temperature sensor.

While it capably tracks fundamental activities like walking and running, the Galaxy Ring’s primary focus lies in revolutionizing sleep tracking. Unlike traditional smartwatches that often need to be removed every night for charging, the Galaxy Ring takes a different approach. Thanks to its lightweight design, it encourages continuous wear, even while sleeping. As a result, users can enjoy uninterrupted and comfortable sleep monitoring. Moreover, the data collected by the ring syncs effortlessly with the Samsung Health app. From there, users gain access to comprehensive sleep coaching, detailed analysis, and actionable tips designed to help improve their overall sleep quality. Notably, a Snore Detection feature is also available, albeit requiring a nearby smartphone that’s charging to function.

I Like to Move It, Move It

Beyond health metrics, the Galaxy Ring incorporates intuitive gesture controls. Users can perform a simple double tap using their index or middle finger and thumb to remotely control their smartphone’s camera shutter or conveniently dismiss alarms. Battery life varies depending on the ring size, ranging from 18mAh to 23.5mAh. Larger sizes can last up to seven days on a single charge. Meanwhile, smaller sizes still offer at least four days of battery life. Additionally, the included transparent charging case comes with a 361mAh battery. It can charge the ring to 40% in about 30 minutes. For a full charge, it takes around 90 minutes.

The Galaxy Ring is engineered for continuous wear and built to last. It features a 10 ATM and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for everyday use, including showering and swimming. While it works with all Android devices, it’s specially optimised for seamless integration with Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Each ring is custom-made to fit either the index or middle finger. Proper orientation is also essential to ensure accurate heart rate readings.

Exclusive Launch and Availability Details

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is priced at RM2,099 and is available in ten different sizes (ranging from 5 to 14) and three elegant finishes: Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold. However, acquiring this highly sought-after wearable isn’t a straightforward retail experience, at least initially.

From the 9th until the 30th of April, the Galaxy Ring will be exclusively available to select users of the Samsung Galaxy Z and Galaxy S series. To gain access, eligible users must obtain an invitation code through the Samsung Members app. Qualifying devices include the Galaxy S25 to S20 series, all S FE models, and the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold series from the Flip 3 and Fold 3 onwards.

Interested users must then visit a physical Samsung Experience Store to determine their ideal ring size and preferred colour. Following this in-person fitting, the final order must be placed online through the Samsung Members app using the obtained invitation code. Samsung has indicated that each Galaxy Ring will take approximately six weeks to be crafted and delivered to the customer.
