Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition: A Long-Overdue Camera Upgrade?
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is set to make a significant leap in camera capabilities. The original Galaxy Z Fold 6 was criticised for its underperforming camera system. However, the Special Edition is set to address these shortcomings.

According to a recent report from serial leaker Evan Blass, the device will feature a 200MP main camera. This is a substantial improvement over the 50MP sensor found in the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and it brings it in line with the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra. Moreover, the upgrade is expected to deliver superior image quality and low-light performance.
There’s no confirmation yet about the telephoto and ultrawide cameras. However, it’s likely they will also receive improvements to complement the main sensor. This long-awaited upgrade is a positive development for Samsung’s foldable lineup. After all, many have complained that the Galaxy Z Fold devices lag behind their non-foldable counterparts in camera performance.
The Special Edition is expected to launch in the coming months, and it will be interesting to see how its camera capabilities compare to other flagship smartphones on the market.
